I sold my IBM this morning (before earnings) at $189.42 locking in a 10% gain. There were several motivations for me to sell IBM for now including :

• IBM picked up a 10% gain while other stocks I picked at the same time (and most of the rest of the market) is down 10-20% over the same time period
• I want to get back away from individual companies in my Rollover IRA (I’d be willing to pick IBM back up in my Roth or trading account on a pullback)
• I want to start building up more cash in my accounts (can look at that as either protecting gains or having cash ready for shorter term opportunities)
• A possible pullback to around 177 doesn’t look that improbable
